AUDITS & MIGRATIONS

Audits and migrations that protect the visibility you have already built

Redesigns, replatforms, domain moves and launch changes can wipe out rankings when redirects, indexing and tracking are not handled properly. I help you plan the move, protect the pages that matter and validate the site after launch.

Redirect map 301

Old URLNew URL
  • /old-page-1/new-page-1
  • /old-category/category/
  • /product/123/products/123
  • /blog/legacy/blog/guide

Every old URL mapped and tested before launch day.

Launch checklist

  • 301 redirects mapped
  • Canonical tags checked
  • Indexing rules validated
  • Analytics and Search Console
  • Post-launch crawl scheduled

Nothing goes live until each line is signed off.

Example of the pre-launch pack you receive, not a live readout.

Site changes rarely fail for one reason

Important pages lose visibility

Redirect chains, stray noindex rules or template changes can stop valuable pages ranking.

Redirect mistakes waste authority

Missing, incorrect or looping redirects cause ranking drops and lost link equity.

Tracking and indexing break quietly

Broken tags, blocked resources and misconfigured settings hide performance and stall discovery.

Templates change search signals

URL, heading and internal-link changes can weaken relevance and confuse search engines.

What I review

Redirect mapping

A complete 301 map covering old URLs, parameters and every piece of content worth keeping, built and tested before launch day.

Staging and noindex checks

Staging stays private, and noindex, robots and meta rules are launch-safe before go-live.

Canonical and internal-link review

Canonicals, hreflang and internal links checked so signals stay strong through the change.

Analytics and Search Console

Tracking, conversions and property access validated so data is reliable from day one.

Sitemap and robots validation

Sitemaps, robots.txt and indexing settings confirmed correct and accessible.

Post-launch crawl and recovery

Crawl the live site, catch issues early and act before they turn into losses.

Protect the launch before it becomes a recovery project

A process that reduces risk, protects the visibility you already have, and keeps momentum through the change.

01

Audit the risks

Review the current site, content, links and tracking to identify what the change could break.

02

Plan and validate

Build the redirect map, update technical settings and validate everything in staging first.

03

Launch and monitor

Go live, monitor closely and fix issues quickly, before they turn into ranking losses.

Technical proof I can point to

When audits and migrations are the right next move

This service fits if

  • You are planning a redesign, replatform or domain migration.
  • You want to protect rankings and traffic through the change.
  • You need a clear redirect map and a launch checklist.
  • You want validation and monitoring after launch.
  • You have technical or tracking concerns before going live.

This may not be your main constraint if

  • Your content does not match what searchers are actually looking for.
  • There is very little demand for the topics you target.
  • Your service or offer is not clearly communicated.
  • You have no way to get technical changes implemented.

Those point at content and topical authority, local SEO or digital PR instead. Tell me the symptom and I will point you at the right one.

Audit and migration questions

What is included in an SEO audit?

A full crawl of the site, then indexing, crawlability, speed and Core Web Vitals, on-page structure, internal linking and tracking. You get a prioritised list of what to fix and what it is costing you, not a 200-page export.

Can you help before a redesign launch?

That is the best time to involve me. Redirect mapping, template review and staging checks all happen before launch. Coming in afterwards means recovering losses instead of preventing them.

Do you create redirect maps?

Yes. A one-to-one map from every old URL to its closest new equivalent, with parameters and legacy paths covered, no chains or loops, and status codes tested against staging before go-live.

How do you check a migration after launch?

A full crawl of the live site on day one, then daily monitoring of indexing, rankings and Search Console errors through the first two weeks, so problems are caught while they are still cheap to fix.

Can you recover lost visibility?

Often, yes. The first step is diagnosing what actually changed: broken redirects, lost internal links, template changes or indexing rules. Recovery is slower than prevention, but most migration damage is reversible.

Do you work with developers?

Yes. I write specifications your developers can implement directly, review staging against them, and stay available through launch week. I do not need to own the deployment to make the move safe.

Planning a redesign, migration or technical review?

Send me your site before you touch anything. I will review the risks, plan the move and help you launch without losing what you have already built.
